Thoracic pain can present suddenly (acute) or be present for over 3 months duration (chronic).
Common locations and symptoms
- In the middle over the spine
- Off to one side next to the shoulder blade.
- The upper spine at the base of the neck
- Above the shoulder blade
- Radiating around the ribs, affecting breathing.
- Shoulder pain
- Headaches
- Forward slumped posture
- Reduced range of motion
- Neck pain
